To provide an article lifting device that can change a height of an article by easy operation.SOLUTION: An article lifting device 1 has: an operation string 2 that is pulled by an operator; a transmission mechanism 3 that has a gear 30 to which the operation string 2 is connected, and transmits a pulling operation force of the operator; a shaft portion 4 that is connected to the transmission mechanism 3, and rotates according to the pulling operation force transmitted by the transmission mechanism 3; and a plurality of hanging strings 5 that can lift and lower an article 7 by being wound around the shaft portion 4 by rotation of the shaft portion 4. The plurality of hanging strings 5 are provided so as to hang down from the shaft portion 4, and it is preferable to further include a plurality of pulleys 6 around which one hanging string 5 among the plurality of hanging strings 5 is wound.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
