To enable accurate coordinate axis setting without depending on the shape of a hoistway, while reducing on-site work.SOLUTION: Three-dimentional (3D) images are taken in a hoistway at the floor level of each floor, the raised position of a car, the lowered position of the car, and the pit position to acquire 3D image data using a hoistway shape generation device. Each acquired 3D image data is combined using feature objects in the hoistway to generate combined data, and when setting the coordinate axis of the combined data, the plane of the existing hoistway equipment is captured by a fascia plate and determined as the depth direction coordinate axis of the hoistway. When setting the coordinate axes of the combined data, the plane of the existing hoistway equipment is captured at the top of the header case and determined as a height direction coordinate axis of the hoistway, and a guide rail tip is utilized as a coordinate origin in the frontage and depth directions when setting the coordinate axes of the coupled data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
