To provide a substitute material which gives properties of resin without compromising the properties of resin.SOLUTION: A bead member for assembling into a pneumatic tire includes a bead wire, and a rubber compound for surrounding and/or protecting the bead wire. The rubber compound contains: (1) at least one kind of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) of 0 to 100 phr; (2) polyisoprene rubber of 0 to 100 phr selected from a group consisting of a natural rubber or a synthetic polyisoprene; (3) carbon black of 80 to 150 phr; (4) silica of 0 to 50 phr; (5) N,N'-m-phenylene bismaleimide of 0.5 to 5 phr on the basis of 100 pts.wt. rubber elastomer (phr), and optionally, may not contain (6) a resin.SELECTED DRAWING: None
