To provide an engagement chain-type elevator which can maintain the push-up load of the engagement chain regardless of a lifting stroke while suppressing the tilting and the buckling of the engagement chain, has a high operational reliability, and can reduce workloads related to maintenance.SOLUTION: An engagement chain-type elevator 100 of the present invention comprises a chain guide mechanism 130 which supports an engagement chain 120 driving an elevator body 101 vertically movably. The chain guide mechanism 130 is configured to comprise a supporting body 131 configured to be movable, while maintaining a relative positional relationship with the elevator body 101, along with movement of the engagement chain 120 when the engagement chain 120 moves more than a predetermined amount in the traveling direction from a state when the elevator body 101 is located at the most lowered position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
