To provide a road surface friction coefficient estimating device capable of estimating the maximum road surface friction coefficient between a wheel and a road surface regardless of whether the wheel is spinning.SOLUTION: A road surface friction coefficient estimating device 10 selects, as the maximum road surface friction coefficient μP, a model maximum road surface friction coefficient μP_md estimatingly calculated by a μP model estimating unit 13, when a friction state between a wheel and a road surface is in an adhesive state not reaching the maximum road surface friction coefficient μP. On the other hand, when the friction state between the wheel and the road surface is in a spinning state exceeding the maximum road surface friction coefficient μP, the road surface friction coefficient estimating device 10 selects, as the maximum road surface friction coefficient μP, a peak hold maximum road surface friction coefficient μP_ph estimatingly calculated by a peak hold estimating unit 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】空転しているか否かによらず、車輪と路面との間の最大路面摩擦係数を推定することが可能な路面摩擦係数推定装置を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】路面摩擦係数推定装置10は、車輪と路面との摩擦状態が最大路面摩擦係数μPに達していない粘着状態である場合には、最大路面摩擦係数μPとして、μPモデル推定部13が推定演算するモデル最大路面摩擦係数μP_mdを選択する。一方、路面摩擦係数推定装置10は、車輪と路面との摩擦状態が最大路面摩擦係数μPを超えた空転状態である場合には、最大路面摩擦係数μPとして、ピークホールド推定部14が推定演算するピークホールド最大路面摩擦係数μP_phを選択する。【選択図】図1
