To provide a control technique capable of improving a fuel consumption amount during sailing.SOLUTION: A main machine control device 10 comprises: a target speed acquisition unit that acquires a target speed of a ship 1 or a main machine 74 for propelling the ship 1; an actual speed acquisition unit that acquires a current actual speed of the ship 1 or the main machine 74; and a determination unit that determines a fuel input amount to the main machine 74 on the basis of a difference between the target speed and the actual speed which have been acquired. The determination unit compares a case where prescribed conditions including a condition that the actual speed is lower than the target speed are satisfied with a case where the conditions are not satisfied, and determines a fuel input amount to the main machine 74 so as to prolong a period required for the actual speed to reach the target speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
