To provide an electromechanical brake booster configured to make a sensor detect displacement of a member which moves together with a brake pedal so as to drive a motor, and eliminate the necessity for positioning in a circumferential direction of the sensor, while avoiding a restriction in design on the sensor and the device from being enlarged in size.SOLUTION: An electromechanical brake booster comprises an input rod 20 connected to a brake pedal BP, a control rod 40 which has a cylindrical body 220 to be detected attached to an outer peripheral surface thereof and which linearly moves in an axial direction accompanying operation of the brake pedal BP in tandem with the input rod 20, and a position sensor 52 that detects displacement of the control rod 40, where the position sensor 52 is arranged outside the body 220 to be detected. The position sensor 52 detects displacement of the body 220 to be detected so as to detect displacement of the control rod 40.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
