To improve accuracy of saving travel to be performed when an abnormality occurs in a vehicle during an automatic operation.SOLUTION: A vehicle control system is applied to a vehicle on which a magnetic sensor for detecting a magnetic marker on a road is mounted. The vehicle control system performs automatic operation control to control the automatic operation of the vehicle. The vehicle control system performs saving travel control using the magnetic marker in accordance with the occurrence of an abnormality in at least a part of components and functions necessary for the automatic operation control. The magnetic marker provides guidance information to guide the vehicle to a saving place. In the saving travel control using the magnetic marker, the vehicle control system acquires guidance information from the magnetic marker to be detected by the magnetic sensor, and allows the vehicle to travel toward the saving place and to stop at the saving place based on the acquired guidance information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3

    【課題】自動運転中の車両において異常が発生した際に行われる退避走行の精度を向上させること。【解決手段】車両制御システムは、道路上の磁気マーカを検出する磁気センサを搭載した車両に適用される。車両制御システムは、車両の自動運転を制御する自動運転制御を実行する。自動運転制御に必要な部品及び機能の少なくとも一部に異常が発生したことに応答して、車両制御システムは、磁気マーカを利用した退避走行制御を実行する。磁気マーカは、車両を退避場所に誘導するための誘導情報を提供する。磁気マーカを利用した退避走行制御において、車両制御システムは、磁気センサによって検出される磁気マーカから誘導情報を取得し、取得した誘導情報に基づいて、車両を退避場所に向かって走行させ退避場所に停止させる。【選択図】図3
