To prevent update of software of a vehicle control device from simultaneously occurring.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a software update method for transmitting update data of software of a vehicle control device from an operation management server to a plurality of vehicles on which the vehicle control devices are mounted, via wireless communication and causing each vehicle control device to respectively execute update of the software. The operation management server divides the plurality of vehicles into a plurality of groups (step S103) and makes the timing in which the vehicle control device executes the update of the software different for each group (step S104 to step S109).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
