To provide a stick-type walking assistance device capable of preventing the visually impaired crossing a crosswalk from deviating therefrom.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a stick-type walking assistance device 10 for assisting walking of a visually impaired person B. The stick-type walking assistance device comprises: a stick 20 that the visually impaired person B holds; a mounting part 30 to be mounted on a part of the body of the visually impaired person B; and a control unit for guiding the visually impaired person B. The mounting part 30 includes a camera for imaging a periphery of a front side of the visually impaired person B. The control unit recognizes a traffic light and the stick 20 in the image captured by the camera and, in a case where a direction of crossing toward the traffic light is not matched with a direction of forward walking connecting a proximal end and a distal end of the stick 20, guides the visually impaired person B in such a manner that the direction of forward walking is matched with the direction of crossing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
