To provide a vehicle parking lock system which can quickly and efficiently eliminate distortion (distortional torque) on a power transmission path.SOLUTION: A vehicle parking lock system (100) comprises: a transmission (10); a parking mechanism (20); a switching mechanism (40) for switching a plurality of engagement elements (C1, C2, C3, B1 and B2) included in the transmission, and switching the parking mechanism; a first control part (70) for controlling the switching mechanism; and a second control part (80) for controlling a foot brake mechanism (60). When the first control part acquires a signal related to a parking shift position, the first control part switches the parking mechanism to a parking lock state. When determining that a distortion amount is equal to or larger than a threshold, the first control part switches the transmission to an interlock state, and issues a signal indicating that the foot brake mechanism is temporarily turned off to the second control part, up to a time point at which the distortion amount reaches a value smaller than the threshold on and after a time point at which the distortion amount is determined to be equal to or larger than the threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
