To provide a hydraulic buffer capable of suppressing reduction in increasing tendency of damping force in a high-speed region in which a moving speed of a piston is fast.SOLUTION: A hydraulic buffer 10 comprises a cylindrical cylinder 30 extending vertically and opened downward, and a metal annular member 80 attached to an outer peripheral surface 45 of a piston 40 and slidable on an inner peripheral surface 33 of the cylinder 30. The piston 40 has communication passages 41, 43 communicating a first oil chamber 34 and a second oil chamber 35, and through holes 46, 47 penetrating from the communication passages 41, 43 to the outer peripheral surface 45 of the piston 40. The through holes 46, 47 face an inner peripheral surface 82 of the annular member 80.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
