To provide a travel control device which can perform suitable lane change so as not to make a driver feel botheration.SOLUTION: The travel control device: sets, according to a state of a lane change, a confirmation level which represents a degree of periphery confirmation to be performed by a driver of a vehicle in the lane change before the lane change is performed to a lane from another lane on which the vehicle travels; requests a first lane change previous operation which is performed for the periphery confirmation in the lane change from the driver via a notification device when the confirmation level is higher than a level threshold; requests a second lane change previous operation which is performed for the periphery confirmation in the lane change and in which a burden on the driver is smaller in comparison with the first lane change previous operation from the driver via the notification device when the confirmation level is lower than the level threshold; and controls traveling of the vehicle so as to perform the lane change when the driver performs the first lane change previous operation or the second lane change previous operation which is requested and a peripheral state of the vehicle meets a peripheral condition to be met by the peripheral state of the vehicle in the lane change.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6

    【課題】運転者にわずらわしさを感じさせないように適切に車線変更を実行することができる走行制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】走行制御装置は、車両が走行中の車線から他の車線への車線変更の実行前に、車線変更において車両の運転者が行うべき周辺確認の程度を示す確認レベルを車線変更の状況に応じて設定し、確認レベルがレベル閾値よりも高い場合、車線変更における周辺確認のための第1車線変更前動作を運転者に通知装置を介して要求し、確認レベルがレベル閾値よりも低い場合、車線変更における周辺確認のためであって第1車線変更前動作よりも運転者の負担が小さい第2車線変更前動作を運転者に通知装置を介して要求し、運転者が要求された第1車線変更前動作または第2車線変更前動作を行い、かつ、車線変更において車両の周辺の状況が満たすべき周辺条件を車両の周辺の状況が満たした場合、車線変更を実行するよう車両の走行を制御する。【選択図】図6
