To provide a drive device of a hybrid vehicle which can avoid energy loss caused by slip control of a clutch when an engine starts during EV travelling.SOLUTION: A power transmission device 5 of a hybrid vehicle 1 is configured so that an internal combustion engine 2, an electric motor 3, and a transmission 4 are connected by planetary gear mechanism PG1, PG2. The internal combustion engine 2 and a ring gear R1 forming the planetary gear mechanisms PG1, PG2 are connected. Further, the power transmission device 5 has a brake BR1 which causes the ring gear R1 to be connected with or disconnected from the housing 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
