To provide an energy absorption component for an automobile that can be securely buckled and deformed from one-end side to the other-end side when a collision load is input from the front or rear of the vehicle body to cause axial crushing, and that can obtain stable collision energy absorption effect, and to provide a manufacturing method for the energy absorption component for the automobile.SOLUTION: A collision energy absorption component 1 for an automobile according to the present invention, which is provided in a front portion or a rear portion of a vehicle body and absorbs collision energy when a collision load is input from the front or behind the vehicle body, includes: a top plate portion 5a; a cylindrical member 3 having a vertical wall portion 5c continuous with the top plate portion 5a via a punch shoulder R portion 5; and a resin 9 applied or stuck to an internal surface of at least the punch shoulder R portion 5b of the cylindrical member 3. The resin 9 has a thickness gradually changing in an axial direction from one-end side to the other-end side, the thickest portion has a thickness of 8 mm or less, the resin is joined to the internal surface with an adhesive strength of 10 MPa or more, and axial crushing is caused when the collision load is input.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】車体の前方又は後方から衝突荷重が入力して軸圧壊する際に、確実に一端側から他端側に向かって座屈変形させることができ、安定した衝突エネルギー吸収効果を得ることができる自動車用衝突エネルギー吸収部品、該自動車用衝突エネルギー吸収部品の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明に係る自動車用衝突エネルギー吸収部品1は、車体の前部又は後部に設けられ、該車体の前方又は後方から衝突荷重が入力した際に衝突エネルギーを吸収するものであって、天板部5aと、天板部5aにパンチ肩R部5bを介して連続する縦壁部5cを有する筒状部材3と、筒状部材3の少なくともパンチ肩R部5bの内面に塗布又は貼付された樹脂9とを有し、樹脂9は、一端側から他端側に向かって軸方向に漸次変化する厚みを有し、該厚みの最も厚い部分が8mm以下で、かつ10MPa以上の接着強度で前記内面に接着され、前記衝突荷重が入力した際に軸圧壊することを特徴とする。【選択図】 図1
