To detect as early as possible a sign that a driver driving a mobile body falls into a driving disabled state.SOLUTION: A driver state estimating device is equipped with a head portion behavior detecting portion that detects a behavior of a head portion of a driver by using a sensor, and a detecting portion that detects an abnormality sign of the driver. The detecting portion computes a periodic feature quantity with respect to time-sequence data indicating the head behavior of the driver, and computes a time-sequence fluctuation pattern with respect to the periodic feature quantity obtained by the computing. The time-sequence fluctuation pattern obtained by the computing is compared with a specified pattern computed in advance, thereby detecting the presence/absence of the abnormality sign of the driver. The specified pattern is the time-sequence fluctuation pattern computed from the head portion behavior of the driver in a specified period including a time when the driver is in an abnormality sign state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6

    【課題】移動体を運転するドライバが運転不能状態に陥る予兆を、出来る限り早期に検知する。【解決手段】ドライバ状態推定装置は、センサを用いてドライバの頭部の挙動を検出する頭部挙動検出部と、検出された頭部挙動から、ドライバの異常予兆を検知する検知部とを備える。検知部は、ドライバの頭部挙動を示す時系列データに対して周期性特徴量を演算し、演算によって得られた周期性特徴量に対して時系列変動パターンを演算し、演算によって得られた時系列変動パターンと予め演算された特定パターンとを比較して、ドライバの異常予兆の有無を検知する。特定パターンは、ドライバが異常予兆状態である時を含む特定期間における該ドライバの頭部挙動から演算された時系列変動パターンである。【選択図】図6
