To provide a speed reducing device with a comparatively small axial length.SOLUTION: A speed reducing device SR is equipped with a motor 100 and a speed reducer 200. A motor has a motor body 10, a rotary shaft 25, a first bearing 30, and a second bearing 35. The speed reducer has a wave motion generator 60, a flexible member 50, and an annular ring-shaped member 40. The wave motion generator has different outer diameters according to positions in a circumferential direction. The flexible member has a flexible cylindrical portion 51 with which the wave motion generator contacts from a diametrical inner side. With the annular member, the cylindrical portion contacts with the diametrical inner side. The flexible member relatively rotates with respect to the annular member, according to rotations of the wave motion generator. The wave motion generator is connected to the rotary shaft 25 at a position different from a position where a rotor 15 of the motor is connected. The first bearing is disposed on an opposite side to the wave motion generator with respect to the rotor, and rotatably supports the rotary shaft. The second bearing is disposed on the diametrical inner side of the cylindrical portion of the flexible member, and rotatably supports the rotary shaft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
