To provide a failure cause identification system that facilitates identification of the cause of a failure by reliably collecting driving data at the timing when the failure occurred.SOLUTION: A data selection unit 114 can reliably collect data regarding a vehicle status at a timing (Timing) at which a failure occurred, on the basis of a content of a response by an occupant of a vehicle to a question for identifying the timing (Timing) at which the failure occurred, acquired according to a question of a first questioning unit 112, thereby, facilitating identification of the cause of the failure based on the data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
