To provide a technique which allows a user to avoid approach to a moving body around him or her.SOLUTION: An approach avoidance system includes: an imaging unit which generates images of a peripheral environment surrounding an object at time intervals of dT; a moving body analysis unit which calculates distances L between the object and moving bodies existing in the peripheral environment and relative speed vectors V of the moving bodies relative to the object and uses the distances L and the relative speed vectors V to calculate times T required for the object and the moving bodies to approach each other within a prescribed distance; a speed calculation unit which extracts a moving body for which the calculated time T is equal to or shorter than a determination time Tj, and calculates a speed dV indicating an extent and direction of an action which the object should take so that a distance Lj between the object and the extracted moving body becomes a prescribed distance after the determination time Tj; an electrode unit for applying galvanic vestibular stimulation to the object; and a current control unit which causes a current with a prescribed current value to flow in the electrode unit to apply the galvanic vestibular stimulation to the object in order to prompt the object to take the action at the speed dV.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
