To appropriately warn a vehicle driver about distraction.SOLUTION: A distraction assessment device 20 comprises: a detection unit 22 for detecting the direction of the faces or sight lines of a vehicle driver and occupants other than the driver; and an assessment unit 23 for assessing, on the basis of the detection result of the detection unit 22, that there is distraction of attention when the driver faces other than the progressing direction of the vehicle for a first period or more, and when occupants other than the driver face the same direction as the driver, assessing that there is distraction of attention when the driver faces other than the progressing direction of the vehicle for a second period or more that is shorter than the first period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
