To provide a steering shaft configured so that slide resistance between a tooth part of an inner shaft and a tooth part of an outer shaft can be reduced further.SOLUTION: A steering shaft comprises: an inner shaft that has a first tooth on an outer peripheral surface and extends in an axial direction along a central shaft; an outer shaft that has a second tooth part on an inner peripheral surface and is arranged at an outer periphery side of the first tooth part; a resin layer arranged between the first tooth part and the second tooth part; a heat insulating material provided at an outer periphery side of the outer shaft; and a heat shielding material, provided at an outer periphery side of the heat insulating material, which has reflectance higher than reflectance of heat of the heat insulating material. The heat insulating material and the heat shielding material overlap with the resin layer when viewed from a radial direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
