When starting the vehicle, a vehicle type code of the vehicle M is read out, specification information written in the vehicle type code is classified for every type, then indexed, and is converted into specification information groups (classification); a node tree is branched into lower classes and a terminal node is searched, while collating the specification information designated on the basis of the node table with the condition for true determination; and a vehicle type para-pattern of the vehicle M is determined in accordance with a pattern number defined in the terminal node.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
