To provide a clutch shift position detecting device capable of improving detection accuracy in an intermittent state of a clutch, and a differential device equipped with the clutch shift position detecting device.SOLUTION: A clutch shift position detecting device 1 is equipped with a pair of rotary members 3 and 5, a clutch member 7 that is disposed so as to rotate integrally with the rotary member 3 and move in a rotary shaft direction, a clutch 9 which connects/disconnects power transmission between the pair of rotary members 3 and 5 by the movement of the clutch member 7, and a detection mechanism 11 that detects a disposed position of the clutch member 7. The detection mechanism 11 has a detector 13 that detects the movement of the clutch member 7, and a sensor coil 17 in which a detection surface 15 detecting the movement of the detector 13 is coaxially disposed with a core of a differential case 3 and is annularly provided. The detector 13 opposes to the detection surface 15 of the sensor coil 17 while keeping a first distance and a second distance, between a first position and a second position at least within a moving range of the clutch member 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
