To provide a hybrid vehicle control method which optimizes fuel economy while curbing deterioration of a battery.SOLUTION: A control method is for a hybrid vehicle which comprises: a generator 2 which generates electricity with power of an engine 1; a battery 8 with electric power charged through the generator 2; and a driving motor 3 generating drive force with the electric power from the generator 2 and the battery 8. The control method controls a power generation amount of the generator 2 on the basis of demand electric power of the driving motor 3 and SOC of the battery 8. In the control method, an estimated SOC profile which is a trend of SOC of the battery when the engine 1 is operated at an optimum fuel economy point is calculated and, when a difference between maximum and minimum values of the estimated SOC profile on an upward slope is equal to or lower than a difference between upper and lower limits of usable SOC, the engine 1 is controlled on the basis of a first target profile obtained through correction of the estimated SOC profile by the difference between the minimum value of the estimated SOC profile and the lower limit of the usable SOC.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】バッテリの劣化を抑制しつつ、燃費を最良化したハイブリッド車両の制御方法を提供する。【解決手段】エンジン1の動力を用いて発電する発電機2と、発電機2による電力が充電されるバッテリ8と、発電機2及びバッテリ8からの電力により走行駆動力を発生させる駆動モータ3と、を備え、駆動モータ3の要求電力とバッテリ8のSOCに基づき発電機2の発電量を制御するハイブリッド車両の制御方法が提供される。この制御方法では、エンジン1を最良燃費運転点で運転した場合におけるバッテリのSOCの推移である推定SOCプロフィールを算出し、登坂路における推定SOCプロフィールの最大値と最小値の差が、使用可能SOCの上限と下限の差以下の場合、推定SOCプロフィールの最小値と使用可能SOCの下限との差分だけ推定SOCプロフィールを補正した第1目標プロフィールに基づきエンジン1を制御する。【選択図】図1
