To provide a capacitor battery that is a rechargeable battery not sensitive to the influence of temperature unlike conventional one for regenerative braking and capable of charging/discharging at high speed.SOLUTION: A battery unit 224 includes a capacitor battery 201a, a capacitor battery 201b, and a voltage level shift unit 307. The capacitor battery 201 includes a plurality of capacitors of a water system. When a motor 207 is driven, voltage of the capacitor battery 201b is boosted by a booster circuit 226b and power is supplied to an inverter circuit 206. When the motor 207 generates power, a switch SWa of a switch circuit 208a is closed and the voltage is stepped down by a step-down circuit 226c and the regenerative power is charged into the capacitor battery 201a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 55
