To provide a crane monitoring device that can measure an interval between a hoisted cargo and an object person more accurately while recognizing a shape of the hoisted cargo, a crane monitoring method and an overhead crane.SOLUTION: A crane monitoring device Da according to the present invention, which monitors an object person involved in an overhead crane, comprises: a hoisted cargo detecting part 1a that detects a hoisted cargo and a shape of the hoisted cargo; an object person detecting part 2a that detects an object person and a shape of the object person; an interval processing part 34a that determines a minimum interval between the hoisted cargo detected by the hoisted cargo detecting part 1a and the object person detected by the object person detecting part 2a, on the basis of the shape of the hoisted cargo and the shape of the object person; and a warning processing part 35 that when the minimum interval determined by the interval processing part 34a is below or less than a threshold, gives a warning to the outside. The hoisted cargo detecting part 1a identifies a hook of the overhead crane and sets a detected region including the identified hook, and detects the hoisted cargo and the shape thereof in the set detected region.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
