    【課題】加速度検出部による加速度検出の測定レンジの閾値が低くても、車両に入力された加速度が衝突によるものか否か判定できる車両用事故検知装置を得る。【解決手段】本車両用事故検知装置では、閾値Sgsを超える大きさの加速度Sgを検知してからの時間Stが所定の時間Stsを超えていない場合には、車両に対する通常操作、車両へのいたずら、車両の盗難等、車両衝突時よりも小さい軽加速度を車両が受けたと判定する。これに対して、測定レンジの閾値Sgsを超える大きさの加速度Sgを検知してからの時間Stが所定の時間Stsを超えた場合には、車両に衝突加速度が作用したと判定する。【選択図】図3
