The shape of an object being present ahead of a train in a traveling direction is determined based on the brightness of the reflected light received by the light receiving means 50. When the determined shape of the object coincides with any one of shapes of signs stored in a sign information database 61, the direction and distance of a position corresponding to a reference point, of the determined object are determined based on the reference point of the sign having the shape coinciding with the shape of the determined object. A position of a train 200 is determined based on the direction and distance of the position corresponding to the reference point, of the determined shape of the object and positional reference information stored correspondingly to positional information in a position reference information database 62.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】列車の位置を安価に、確実に判別することができる技術を提供する。【解決手段】軌道100に沿って複数の標識が設けられている。列車装置10の処理手段20は、光照射手段40から照射された光の照射角度、受光手段50で受光した反射光の明度、光照射手段40から光を照射してから受光手段50で反射光を受光するまでの反射時間tnを判別する。受光手段50で受光した反射光の明度に基づいて、列車進行方向前方に存在する物体の形状を判別する。判別した物体の形状が、標識情報データベース61に記憶されている標識の形状のいずれかと一致する場合には、判別した物体の形状と一致する形状を有する標識の基準点に基づいて、判別した物体の、基準点に対応する位置の方向および距離を判別する。判別した物体の形状の、基準点に対応する位置の方向および距離と、位置参照情報データベース62に、位置情報に対応して記憶されている位置参照情報とに基づいて、列車200の位置を判別する。【選択図】図1
