To quickly and accurately predict rolling resistance even for a pneumatic tire that is provided with a member in its cavity.SOLUTION: A rolling resistance prediction method includes: causing a pneumatic tire 1A to travel for first time and measuring change in an initial temperature of a cavity 100 and change in an initial rolling resistance value of the pneumatic tire; and subsequently, predicting a temperature of the cavity after lapse of second time when the pneumatic tire is caused to travel for long second time, and on the basis of, the change in the initial temperature and the change in the initial rolling resistance value, predicting a rolling resistance value of the pneumatic tire 1A at the temperature of the cavity after the lapse of the second time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
