To reduce time required for generating a locus.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes a generation unit, a retrieval unit, and a selection unit. Based on one or more avoidance patterns respectively indicating one or more motions of a moving body for avoiding an object, the generation unit generates a plurality of nodes at positions corresponding to motions indicated by the avoidance patterns in order to avoid a first object on a first locus. The retrieval unit retrieves, for the respective one or more avoidance patterns, for one or more locus candidates whose movements cost are each less than other locus candidates among a plurality of locus candidates connecting the plurality of nodes. The selection unit selects a locus candidate whose movement cost is less than other locus candidates among the one or more locus candidates retrieved for the respective avoidance patterns.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
