To solve the problem that handrails of escalators are provided on right and left sides so as to prevent overturn of a user, and are configured to move at the same speed as footsteps, many persons touch the handrails, sebum of hands is attached thereto and microorganisms such as bacteria live therein, therefore, if the handrails are subjected to continuous antibacterial treatment for suppressing living of the bacteria, persons can safely grip the handrails.SOLUTION: Copper fine powder is added, fixed and coated to a handrail coating agent, thereby can persist an antibacterial effect over a long period of time. Thereby, users can safely grip handrails, and it is useful for overturn prevention being an original purpose. In addition to reduction of a risk of a facility manager, courteous service can be also provided to a facility user. [Test result] An inspection result in a public inspection agency is as follows. (Staphylococcus aureus) The number of live bacteria immediately after inoculation is 24,700 pieces by average per 1 cm2 of a test piece, the number of live bacteria of an untreated piece after 24 hours is 59,700 pieces, and an antibacterial test piece is 0 piece. (Escherichia coli) The number of live bacteria immediately after inoculation is 24,000 pieces by average per 1 cm2 of a test piece, the number of live bacteria of an untreated piece after 24 hours is 2,633,000 pieces, and an antibacterial test piece is 183,700 pieces.

    【課題】 エスカレーターの手摺りは、利用者に転倒防止の為に左右に設けられ、踏み段と同速度で移動する構造になっています。手摺りは多くの人が触り、手の皮脂等が付着して細菌等微生物が生息する環境となっています。細菌等の生息を抑制する常時抗菌性のある加工が出来たら、安心して手摺りに掴まることが出来る。【解決手段】 手摺りコーティング剤に銅の微粉末を添加固定し、塗布加工することにより、長時間に渡り抗菌効果が持続出来る。これにより、利用者が安心して手摺りに掴まり、本来の目的である転倒防止に役立つこととなる。施設管理者のリスクが減少するばかりでなく、施設利用者への厚遇サービスとなります。【試験結果】公的検査機関における検査結果は次の通りです。(黄色ブドウ球菌)接種直後の生菌数は試験片1cm2当たり平均24,700個、24時間後の無加工片の生菌数は、59,700個であり、抗菌試験片は0個を示した。(大腸菌)接種直後の生菌数は試験片1cm2当たり平均24,000個、24時間後の無加工片の生菌数は、2,633,000個であり、抗菌試験片は183,700個を示した。
