To suppress that a distance between base end portions of a pair of rotary arms becomes short.SOLUTION: A clearance adjusting mechanism 70 in a brake device 10 is equipped with a male screw portion 71. A female screw portion 72 is fitted in the male screw portion 71. The female screw portion 72 is attached with an input member 73 that relatively rotates the female screw portion 72 in one direction with respect to the male screw portion 71. In the clearance adjusting mechanism 70, when the female screw portion 72 relatively rotates in one direction with respect to the male screw portion 71, a distance between the base end portions of the pair of rotary arms 40 become long. Furthermore, the clearance adjusting mechanism 70 is equipped with a one-way clutch 75 that permits relative rotations of the female screw portion 72 in one direction with respect to the male screw portion 71, and regulates the relative rotations of the female screw portion 72 in the other direction with respect to the male screw portion 71.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
