To provide a tank vehicle in which water hammer occurring upon switching of a switching valve can be suppressed.SOLUTION: A tank vehicle comprises: a flow channel for discharging liquid in a tank 5 or for sucking liquid into the tank 5; and a pump P which is located in the middle of the flow channel, and is driven according to an engine speed of an engine, and further comprises: a first flow channel R1 for discharging the liquid from the tank 5 and sucking the liquid into the tank 5; a switching valve 9 which switches discharge and suction of the first flow channel R1; switching detection means which detects switching of the switching valve 9; and a control unit which controls the engine speed. On the basis of the detection result of the switching detection means, the control unit adjusts the engine speed to a first engine speed which is lower than the engine speed at a time point when the same is detected by the switching detection means, and which is equal to or higher than an engine idling speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
