To reduce user's burden of executing a mode in which auxiliary power by a motor is output to walk while pushing a bicycle or auxiliary power is output to self-travel the bicycle, and to improve safety.SOLUTION: An electric power assist bicycle, which is an example of an embodiment, is capable of executing: a first mode in which the bicycle travels by adding first auxiliary power output from a motor in accordance with a magnitude of a pedaling force, to a human-powered drive force supplied by a pedaling force applied to a pedal; and a second mode in which second auxiliary power generated by the motor is output to walk while pushing the bicycle, or the second auxiliary power is output to self-travel the bicycle. The electric power assist bicycle is provided with a manual switch 25 for instructing to execute the second mode. The manual switch has an operation unit 27 disposed at a position lower than a lowermost end U1 of the upper-end edge of a grip 4a attached to a handle 4 and offset from the center line of the grip toward the saddle side as viewed from above.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
