To provide an evaluation method of stone biting performance of a tire capable of efficiently obtaining comparable results.SOLUTION: An evaluation method evaluates stone biting performance of a tire 2 having a tread configured with a tread pattern formed by carving grooves. The evaluation method includes steps of: (1) running a four-wheel vehicle 38 equipped with tires 2 on a testing course having a testing road surface containing a large number of stones; and (2) counting a number of stones bitten in grooves. The tire 2 is a first tire 2a and a second tire 2b with the same tire size. The first tire 2a is equipped on a forward left side and a rear right side of the four-wheel vehicle 38. The second tire 2b is equipped on a forward right side and a rear left side of the four-wheel vehicle 38.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
