To provide a vehicle body comprising a side frame capable of contributing to increase of an absorption amount of collision energy.SOLUTION: A vehicle body 11 comprises: left and right side frames 12 extending in a vehicle body cross direction, and supporting collision load acting from a front or rear side; and a coupling member 22 which is coupled to open ends of the side frames 12, for restricting displacement of the open ends in a direction where the open ends separate mutually. The side frames 12 are arranged in a manner of sandwiching high strength sections 26a, 26b therebetween in the vehicle body cross direction, and comprise a plurality of low strength sections 27 which has strength lower than that of the high strength sections 26a, 26b in the vehicle body cross direction, and the low strength section 27 has lower strength in the cross direction as the low strength section is closer to the open end.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
