To quickly and accurately capture an abnormal sign leading to driving incapacity of a driver.SOLUTION: A driver condition estimation device comprises: a head behavior detection unit 21 that detects a behavior of a head of a driver from output from a camera 10 photographing the driver; and a detection unit 30 that detects an abnormal sign of the driver from the behavior of the head detected by the head behavior detection unit 21. The detection unit 30 calculates a periodic feature quantity for time-series data representing the behavior of the head of the driver, calculates of coherence of the behavior of the head of the driver and a lateral acceleration acting on the head of the driver, calculates a time-series variation pattern for the obtained periodic feature quantity and the obtained coherence, compares the obtained time-series variation pattern with a predetermined threshold, and determines the presence or absence of the abnormal sign of the driver.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
