To provide a battery control device capable of accurately performing switch diagnosis even when an external charger is connected.SOLUTION: A battery control device for controlling connection between a battery and a load includes: a first switch to be inserted between the battery and the load; a bypass circuit where a second switch, a diode part consisting of two diodes connected in parallel in opposite rectification directions, and a third switch are serially connected, and which is connected in parallel with the first switch by allowing the second switch to be on a battery side; an instruction section for respectively instructing an opening/closing state to the first switch, the second switch, and the third switch; an acquisition section for respectively acquiring voltages on both ends of the second switch and voltages on both ends of the third switch; and a diagnosis section for diagnosing whether or not the first switch is normally actuated based on the opening/closing states of the switches instructed by the instruction section and the voltages acquired by the acquisition section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
