To obtain a negative pressure type booster comprising a valve mechanism which can improve assembly workability.SOLUTION: A negative pressure type booster comprises: a valve body; a plunger which is so accommodated as to be movable in an axial direction with respect to the valve body, and is provided with a recess opened to the other side in the axial direction; an inlet rod which extends in the axial direction and has, at an end part on one side in the axial direction, a spherical part having a maximum diameter portion which is inserted in the recess and overhangs to the outermost in a radial direction orthogonal to the axial direction, and a reduced diameter portion of which an outer diameter decreases as approaching the other side in the axial direction from the maximum diameter portion; and a sleeve member having a bottomed cylindrical part which is interposed between an inner peripheral surface of the recess and an outer peripheral surface of the spherical part, accommodates the spherical part, and is opened to the other side in the axial direction, and an anti-falling-out part which is provided on the other side in the axial direction with respect to the cylindrical part, and becomes a first state that an outer diameter thereof is larger than an inner diameter of the inner peripheral surface in a state of non-press-fitted in the recess, and becomes a second state that the anti-falling-out part is positioned on the other side in the axial direction with respect to the reduced diameter portion and on an inner side of the inner peripheral surface in a state of press-fitted in the recess.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
