To provide a rolling resistance estimation method which can accurately estimate the rolling resistance of a tire.SOLUTION: An estimation method includes: (1) a phase difference derivation process for controlling a moving mechanism 60 so that a load applied to a tire is varied, and deriving a phase difference between a variation of a load and a variation of a position of a pressurization member 58 on the basis of signals from a load sensor 62 and a position sensor 64; and (2) a rolling resistance estimation process for comparing a phase difference derived by the phase derivation process with respect to a reference tire and a phase difference derived in the phase derivation process with respect to a tire being an estimation object, and estimating the rolling resistance of the tire being the estimation object. In the phase difference derivation process, an amplitude S(mm) of the variation of the position of the pressurization member 58 is acquired by the following formula (1) which is expressed by a deflection amount D(mm) of the tire and a constant B, and the constant B is 0.03 or larger and 0.6 or smaller.
