To provide a ballast water treatment agent that can easily control chlorine concentrations in ballast water in a ballast tank.SOLUTION: A ballast water treatment agent 1 has a chlorine-based killing agent 2, and a package 3 that packages the chlorine-based killing agent 2 and is composed of water-soluble entangled fibers. The ballast water treatment agent 1 is put into ballast water in a ballast tank, and the package 3 composed of water-soluble entangled fibers is dissolved, so that the packaged chlorine-based killing agent 2 dissolves into the ballast water, resulting in an increase of chlorine concentration of ballast water, allowing microorganisms or bacteria present in the ballast water to be killed. The chlorine concentration in the ballast water decreases with time by transpiration, separation or a reaction with dissolved organic matter, so that, considering it, the ballast water treatment agent 1 is put into the ballast water in the ballast tank.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】バラストタンク内のバラスト水中の塩素濃度を容易に調整できるバラスト水処理剤を提供する。【解決手段】バラスト水処理剤1は、塩素系殺滅剤2と、前記塩素系殺滅剤2を包装する水溶性繊維絡合体からなる包装体3とからなり、バラストタンク内のバラスト水中に投入され、水溶性繊維絡合体からなる包装体3が溶解することによって、包装されていた塩素系殺滅剤2がバラスト水中に溶けだす結果、バラスト水の塩素濃度が高まり、バラスト水に存在する微生物または菌類等を殺滅させることができるように構成され、バラスト水中の塩素濃度は、蒸散、分離および溶存有機物との反応等により時間経過と共に減少するため、それを考慮した上で、バラスト水処理剤1をバラストタンク内のバラスト水中に投入する。【選択図】図1
