To provide an auxiliary wheel mechanism of a bicycle that can move an auxiliary wheel between a retreating position and an actuating position, without requiring manual control by a rider.SOLUTION: An auxiliary wheel mechanism 151 of a bicycle comprises an auxiliary wheel 1, a saddle support member 7, a transmission member 9 and an auxiliary wheel energization member 23. The auxiliary wheel 1 is supported on a vehicle body 11 so that the wheel can move between a retreating position retreating from a road surface 17 and an actuating position at which the wheel supports the vehicle body 11 with respect to the road surface 17 so as to prevent the vehicle body 11 from falling down and is positioned beside a rear wheel 13. The saddle support member 7 is provided in the vehicle body 11 and supports a saddle 27 movably in a longitudinal direction. The transmission member 9 transmits forward and rearward movements of the saddle 27 to the auxiliary wheel 1 so that the auxiliary wheel 1 is positioned at the retreating position when the saddle 27 is positioned at a front side and the auxiliary wheel 1 is positioned at the actuating position when the saddle 27 is positioned at a rear side.
