To provide a driving environment setting system capable of identifying a driver without adding a device for detecting the driver's physical characteristics and without making the driver perform an operation.SOLUTION: A driving environment setting system 1 comprises: a plurality of portable devices which detect magnetic field strength of radio communication waves transmitted from a control apparatus and which transmit the identification information and magnetic field strength of the device itself to the control apparatus; and the control apparatus 20 which determines a driver's portable device corresponding to the driver, on the basis of the magnetic field strength of the one or more portable devices, received from the portable device, and which changes a driving environment of a driver seat on the basis of the identification information on the driver's portable device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
