To provide a measuring instrument with which it is possible to suppress the blur of the contour of an area that lights up.SOLUTION: A measuring instrument 1 comprises a nameplate 5, a light limiting member 41, an adhesive member 8, and light sources 13, 15, 17. The nameplate includes a permeable area 35 which light can pass through. The light limiting member is arranged closer to the rear side than the nameplate and does not pass light through as easily as the permeable area. The adhesive member adheres the nameplate and the light limiting member together. The adhesive member does not pass light through as easily as the permeable area. First holes 43, 45, 47 constituting a portion of an optical path leading from the light sources toward the permeable area are formed in the light limiting member. Second holes 59, 61, 63 constituting a portion of the optical path are formed in the adhesive member. When seen from the plate thickness direction of the nameplate, the second holes are smaller than the first holes and are included in the first holes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
