To provide an authentication system that authenticates a user using an on-vehicle speaker for approach notification.SOLUTION: An authentication system is mounted on a vehicle. The authentication system includes a proximity call speaker, a correction unit that corrects the frequency characteristics of a user's audio signal acquired from the proximity call speaker used as a microphone, and an authentication unit that authenticates the user to the vehicle based on the audio signal corrected by the correction unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
