To suppress the generation of fretting wear on an end surface on a back surface side of a disc.SOLUTION: A toroidal continuously variable transmission is equipped with a rotary shaft, a pair of discs, at least one power roller, and at least one bearing disposed between the rotary shaft and a casing. At lease one of the pair of discs has a disc body portion having a recessed surface opposed to the power roller, and a cylinder portion projecting out from the disc body portion along a rotation axis to the opposite side to the power roller.
