To provide a vessel propulsion machine including a composition for easily and accurately predicting exchange period for a corrosion preventing anode (anode metal).SOLUTION: A vessel propulsion machine includes metal components 15, 16 coming into contact with water and a corrosion preventing anode 41 composed of baser metal material than the metal components 15, 16, conducting with the metal components 15, 16, and arranged so as to come into contact with the water that the metal components 15, 16 come into contact with. The vessel propulsion machine additionally includes: a standard electrode 53 insulated from all of the metal components 15, 16 and the corrosion preventing anode 41 and arranged to come into contact with the water coming into contact with the metal components 15, 16; and a microcomputer 80 as a potentiometer for acquiring the potential difference of the metal components 15, 16 for the reference electrode 53 or the corrosion preventing anode 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
