To efficiently cool a power generation unit for a range extender vehicle which generates power by a power generation engine.SOLUTION: A power generation unit 1 for a range extender vehicle includes: a power generation engine 20; a fuel tank 30; a muffler 50; and an inverter 35 provided with heat radiation fins 36. A cooling structure of the power generation unit 1 includes: a first cooling system 11 in which cooling air flows from the power generation engine 20 to the muffler 50; and a second cooling system 12 in which cooling air flows through the heat radiation fins 36 of the inverter 35 to the muffler 50. The first cooling system 11 and the second cooling system 12 intersect with each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
