To solve the problem that a high performance computer is required in a conventional method since it is necessary for a ground-side apparatus to speedily and highly frequently acquire, from mounted devices of all vehicles traveling in an intersection, detailed location information, velocity information, information of courses intended to travel, etc., of all the vehicles and calculate appropriate entry timing to the intersection, an appropriate entry speeds, etc.SOLUTION: One of traffic flow control systems is a traffic flow control system configured to control a traffic flow of a traffic route by communicating with a travel control apparatus of a mobile body passing the traffic route, and comprises an entry authority management unit and a communication unit. The entry authority management unit manages an entry authority for each area in the traffic route divided into virtual areas, manages tokens as many as the number corresponding to the area and gives the entry authority to the travel control apparatus together with the token, thereby guiding the entry of the mobile body into the area.     【課題】従来の方法では、地上側の装置は交差点を走行する全ての車両の搭載装置から、当該車両の詳細な位置情報、速度情報、走行を企図している進路の情報などを高速かつ高頻度に取得し、交差点への適切な進入タイミングや、適切な進入速度を計算する必要があり、高性能な計算機を必要とした。【解決手段】交通流制御システムの一つは、交通路を通行する移動体の走行制御装置と通信を行って、交通路の交通流を制御する交通流制御システムであって、進入権管理部、および通信部を備える。進入権管理部は、仮想的なエリアに区分された交通路においてエリアごとに進入権を管理し、エリアに応じた数のトークンを管理し、トークンに進入権を付随させて走行制御装置に与えることによって移動体のエリアへの進入を誘導する。通信部は、走行制御装置との間で、進入権およびトークンの通信を行う。【選択図】図1
