To provide a technique that enables a hand-push type carrier to automatically stop in a state where a user disengages the hand from a gripping part.SOLUTION: A hand-push type carrier disclosed in the specification may comprise: drive wheels; a motor that rotates the drive wheels; a gripping part that is gripped by a user; a gripping detection member that detects whether or not the user is gripping the gripping part; and a mechanical brake that brakes rotation of the drive wheels when the gripping detection member does not detect that the user is gripping the gripping part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
